Membrane evaluation equipment
The flat membrane performance evaluation equipment (test cell) is to evaluate the membrane performance by using a flat membrane specimen to evaluate the performance of the developed membrane and varying the conditions (pressure, concentration, recovery rate). Membrane cells can be made up to 2~8 in number according to customers' requirements.

The hollow fiber membrane module performance evaluation equipment is a bench or pilot scale of membrane separation device to evaluate the performance of a developed hollow fiber membrane and module, and it is necessary for research on a membrane separation process as well as the evaluation of the membrane module performance. The membrane separation device can be used for field testing as well, and in this case, basic data for the membrane separation process design can be obtained.

SepraTek has designed a novel permeation analyzer based on the Continuous-flow Technique, which is able to measure the permeability, diffusivity, and solubility of permeant through membrane precisely, rapidly, and directly. The analyzer will provide you with valuable clues to analyze the permeation behavior of permeant through membrane as well as useful data on permeation.
PMA (Permeation Membrane Analyzer) is highly effective in studying the interaction characteristics of polymers with permeant molecule of liquids, vapors, or gases, and consists of a feeding system, a membrane cell, and a data measurement and acquisition system. The data measurement and acquisition system generates two permeation transition curves in real time and displays them on a computer screen.
As soon as the feed gas is introduced into the permeation cell in which a membrane to be tested is loaded, the permeation of the feed gas takes place through the membrane, and the dual detector system (mass flow meter: MFM and pressure transducer; PT) detects and outputs the permeation in a curve shape of permeation transient in real time. The permeation rate determined from the mass flow meter may result in a slight decrease in the permeation value due to the frictional resistance to the permeate passing through the mass flow meter, which may result in a larger response time and a smaller diffusion than it actually is, but the permeability in the steady state is accurately measured from the level-off value of the transition curve.
The permeation rate determined by the pressure transducer is the same as the actual response to the permeability, thus determining the exact diffusion, but the absolute permeability value cannot be obtained. Therefore, if the two permeation transitions complement each other, the correct permeability and diffusivity can be automatically calculated by the computer program after data collection. The two detection systems provide an accurate response even to very small and instantaneous permeation rates.
PMA Applications

Measurement of permeability, diffusivity, and solubility of gase, liquid, and vapors through polymeric membrane.

Investigation of the plasticizing behavior, activation energy, and relaxation phenomenon of the permeate on the membrane material through the analysis of the permeation kinetics and behavior of molecules permeating through the polymer membrane.

Determination of the interaction between a polymer and a sample gas or a polymer and the monomers that make up the polymer.

Development of membrane materials, coating materials, and film materials.
